 The photographer/author, Douglas Demetrios Lyttle: Research chemist, photo studio owner, teacher of photography (professor at Rochester Institute of Technology), free-lance photographer and Grecophile. He made 22 extended visits to the Monastic Republic of Mount Athos in Greece, the Holy Mountain, between 1972 and 1998, documenting the place and the the monastic life of its black-robed men, to weave the fascinating story of its unexpected and marvelous reawakening and renewal in Miracle of the Monastery Mountain. |
